Residents living in the Darling Downs and South West Queensland have access to specialist palliative care telehealth consultations via the Gold Coast Clinical Hub
Residents living in Central West, Central Queensland and the Wide Bay area have access to specialist palliative care telehealth consultations via the Sunshine Coast Clinical Hub
Residents of North West Queensland, the Townsville region and the Mackay region have access to specialist palliative care telehealth consultations via the Townsville Clinical Hub
Residents of the Torres and Cape and of the Cairns and Hinterland regionshave access to specialist palliative care telehealth consultations via the Cairns Clinical Hub
Additionally, prescribers, nurses and allied health professionals needing advice can phone the state-wide on-call telephone and education service – PallConsult.
PallConsult services are:
- 1300 PALLDR (1300 725537) - 24/7 direct telephone access for Queensland GPs and NPs to a palliative care medical specialist
- 1300 PALLCR (1300 725527) – 24/7 direct telephone access for community and RACF nurses and allied health professionals to a specialist palliative care nurse
- Resources, education and mentoring opportunities
- Backup palliative care advice for Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS)
